Designation: Senior Software Engineer
Expectations:
Senior Software
Engineer/Developer has to work in a dynamic and challenging environment. This
position involves designing and developing complex applications, solutions and
information systems in Java and J2EE architecture and work with software
engineers, Module Lead and Project management for development of code.
Ø Minimum
3 years software development experience with a minimum of 3 years of J2EE
experience along with MVC frameworks Struts, Spring, Hibernate, Web services
hands on experience is required for the incumbent.
Ø Must
have successfully completed delivery of 3 or more projects through full
software development lifecycle.
Ø Thorough
understanding of and experience in at least two structured software development
methodologies (i.e. Agile, Spiral, Waterfall etc.) including design, coding,
unit test, etc. required.
Ø Comfortable
in face-to-face meetings and over the telephone with customers and both
technical and non-technical personnel.
Ø A good
understanding of software engineering and agile development practices.
Primary Role
and Responsibilities:
Ø Experience
developing and debugging software in a real-time, embedded, multiprocessor,
multi-interface environment.
Ø Involve
in technical low-level design of the application with the support of Module
Lead / Team Lead.
Ø Participate
actively in database design of the application.
Ø Mentors
Associate Software Engineers and Interns.
Ø Identify
product requirements and potential improvements and discuss them with the
Module Lead / Team Lead.
Ø Interface
with the Global support/services team, product marketing and Customer/Partners
to address issues in the field, with in the knowledge of the Module Lead.
Ø Do
review of other team member’s work and their code.
Ø Undertake
any other assignments, which the company may request from time to time.

optimization and profiling.
Ø Debugging
and performance profiling.

Module Lead has
to work in a dynamic and challenging environment. This position involves
designing, planning, execution of projects in a technical perspective and will
be the single point of contact for the technical needs of the application. Role
includes working with complex designing and developing complex applications,
solutions and information systems in Java and J2EE architecture and work with
Senior Software Engineers, Software Engineers and Project Managers for the
execution of projects.
Expectations:
Ø Minimum
5 years of Web & Application development experience required in Java.
Ø Experience
in SOA.
Ø Experience
of working with developers working in J2EE & EJB 2.1, JBoss / WebSphere /
Tomcat, Application Server, Web Services, etc.
Ø Experience
in Hybrid Mobile applications made on browser technology such as HTML5 is
desirable.
Ø Excellent
knowledge in OOAD, Design Patterns and UML.
Ø Excellent
knowledge in Java/J2EE technologies with knowledge in Struts/Spring/Hibernate
frameworks.
Ø Excellent
knowledge in a J2EE application server (WebLogic, WebSphere, JBoss).
Ø Thorough
understanding of and experience in at least two structured software development

Responsibilities:
Ø Work
with business partners to understand and analyze their project business
requirements and processes.
Ø Collaborate
with developers and Solutions Architects to establish the technical vision
while demonstrating an understanding of the business needs/requirements and
being able to translate them into system/application and operational
requirements.
Ø Ability
to prepare/review the software requirement specifications, use case modeling,
use-case specifications, UML diagrams, class diagrams, sequence diagrams,
process flow diagrams, data modelling and supplementary specifications.
Ø Ability
to perform functional and technical gap analysis between present and proposed
systems and prepare detailed functional and non-functional specifications for
implementation.
Ø Architecting
and Designing enterprise J2EE Applications.
Ø Create
high-level comprehensive solution designs that address the needs of key
stakeholders from the business, solution delivery and operations areas.
Ø Document
system requirement specification (SRS) in a clear and concise fashion to ensure
requirements can be understood and meet the needs of key requirements
stakeholders Business, Developers/Designers and Quality Assurance.
Ø Ensure
that SRSs are agreed to and approved according to SDLC governance guidelines.
Actively manage the approval and review process for SRS documentation and
escalating/raising risk awareness when approvals are delayed or not received.
Ø Act as
a central point of contact for requirements through the life of the project.
Provide support and consulting to business and technology project members to
ensure requirements are properly considered through all phases, from analysis,
design and testing through to implementation planning and roll out.
Ø Demonstrate
ownership of requirements throughout the lifecycle of the project. In
partnership with the business, uniquely identify all requirements and ensure
ongoing change control and traceability matrix tools are in place to track
where requirements are derived from, how they are satisfied, how they are
tested, and what impact will result if they are changed.
Ø Work
with Project Managers to ensure all additions/modifications to scope and
requirements follow standard change control practice (i.e. PCR).
