|
List and describe the essential
responsibilities of the position for which the individual is held
accountable.
·
Design, build, maintain, enhance, and regularly
execute performance, scalability, and reliability (PSR) regression tests on
Java applications.
·
Identify the source of PSR regressions, root
cause, and responsible owners.
·
Collaborate with local and remote teams to
reproduce, verify, and fix PSR issues.
·
Evangelize the early PSR profiling methodology
among other CQ and product development teams.
·
Debug complex application and system interactions
and identify the ultimate bottleneck for specific applications and
transactions.
·
Characterize PSR of new features with respect to
architectural violations, resource utilization and capacity planning, and
ways to optimize the software and/or hardware configuration.
·
Develop representative workloads that stress
boundary conditions to test new features and or add coverage to regression
suites.
·
Develop and execute stress tests and design
specific diagnostics for testing reliability and identifying potential
vulnerabilities.
·
Develop and enhance existing utilities and tools
for performance measurement and analysis.
·
Help debug site issues whenever called upon

·
Superior understanding of performance engineering
fundamentals.
·
Superior understanding of performance issues in
large, complex web based application.
·
Must have experience with a multi-user
performance driving tools such as jmeter, Loadrunner, or SilkPerformer. Experience with performance monitors such
as dynatrace is desired.
·
Must be familiar with monitoring tools on Linux such as top, vmstat, sar.
·
Must be comfortable working on Linux and have
understanding of process and file management.
·
Must be able to write scripts in a shell, perl,
python, or JavaScript programming language.
·
Possess a good understanding of Java application
servers and performance interfaces and monitoring tools.
·
Possess a basic understanding of Oracle, SQL
tuning, and OLTP concepts.
